No Planet B

What we should save

Is what we have

There are ecofriendly tips we can use

We can reduce, recycle and reuse

When we go green

Our environment will be clean

Environmental awareness protection can be taught

And then less things can be bought

Consuming and polluting can be reduced

And a lot more biodegradable items can be produced

A lot more replanting be done

And the battle against climate change can be won

We should not act as if we don’t care

When hurricanes destroy lives over there

As climate change destroy homes and livelihood

We should all try to start doing something good

We should be replanting more trees

As we create more homes for the birds and the bees

If we all could decide to protect earth’s beauty our troubles would be reduced

And a lot more wonderful fruits and medicines would be produced

Start protecting the planet more today

So we can live in a much better way

    1. You are so right Kamal, when we stop to think about the alternatives we have as a home and realise that there is no other earth nearby, we should be willing to change our ways

  1. Exactly:
not only do we not have a Planet B, but as many have been warning for some time now, if we don’t start to actively work on getting humanity out of this mess, either to terraform Mars, or to start aggressively working on climate equity now, we will also have both a limited and grim future ahead, in the next century.
    And,
if we do terraform Mars, we’d better learn to take far better care of that planet than we have of this one.

  2. It is time when we are literally running out of time to turn this around. The climate deniers need to wake up. Thank you for this wonderful piece and for speaking out. Hugs 🤗 Joni

  3. And as you pointed out, Denise, mass transit, good public transit, would help so much, with transportation in larger numbers and greater comfort rather than traffic jams.

      1. Thank you, Denise! I try to link up the 4 main parts of our infrastructure that I think would make the most difference right away (ok, in the mid-to-long term, but also in the short term): transpo, libraries, Adult pro-bono legal and financial education, and health care. I think that those four things are all linked to the environment, especially health and transportation, but people often overlook the connections.

      2. So true, when people are aware of how much they need to take care of their health maybe they would take better care of the environment as well

      3. Absolutely, especially when they see that the environment directly affects their own personal health, physically and emotionally, as well as the health of all the rest of us, too!
