When beaches disappear

Because we just don’t care
I wonder what children will say
About the price they will pay
When the fish can’t be eaten again
Will we say we had nothing to gain
From producing so many things
The extra toys and the bling
That all end up in the dump one day
When we could be spending in a better way
We can spend on the things we really need
And then our children will follow our lead
And we will have less junk in the sea
And a better environment for you and me
Let’s do more for the environment today
So that we all can live in a better way

When Children Plant Seeds

If children would learn how to plant a tree or two

They would have an experience that would be so awesome and new
They would be getting ready to face a life of great possibilities
As they could start creating new realities
And they would see how much goodness comes out of a seed
They could start to think of helping the ones who are in need
As they would see how much more they can have to offer
When we simply plant seeds and think about each other

Mother Earth

We call Earth Mother

She is like no other
She provides for us all
During Summer ,Winter and fall
But the Earth must be sad
As our treatment of her has been bad
The oceans are filled with plastic and waste
And it is time for us to make haste
To clean up the mess we have made
Or we will surely be paid
With more Hurricanes and floods
We need to cut back on our use of goods
And do more to protect our Mother
And stop treating her as if we have another
We have no where else to go
So let’s plant more trees and watch them grow
