When children become aware of the need for environmental care, they eventually help parents to conserve, do gardening, recycling, reusing, reducing and more. They will begin decreasing plastic pollution and assist in building environmental protection awareness.
After a while we will see less plastic in the oceans and at the seashore. As they will encourage their friends to use environmental solutions and conserve. This is how we become the change we need to see. We learn about the environmental solutions together as families and friends. Planning for the sustainable future can become easy to do. The recycling bins can be in more places so our children will use them more often.
Green Activities for Children Ages 6-12:
Ecological Hands-On Projects
Create school or home vegetable gardens, build compost bins, design and maintain, butterfly/pollinator gardens and start worm composting systems.
These hands on projects will cause children to be busy as they learn in practical ways. No more boring days as children get ready to provide for their own basic needs. We currently have situations where teenagers who are parents, are unable to provide for themselves in any way. This cause increased poverty in communities. If there were more group green activities they would have been learning how to grow crops along with the people in their communities each day.
Recycling and Up-cycling
Design art projects from recycled materials, create jewelry from plastic waste, build bird houses from reclaimed wood, and transform old containers into planters.
Children will get to understand how useful old things can be used in many ways. They will become more creative as they get ready to become independent.
Conservation Learning
Track household energy consumption, measure water usage, calculate family carbon footprint and create Eco awareness posters.
Children will see how much their daily usage affects the bills and begin taking steps to decrease their consumption. They will also use their creativity to make the best Eco awareness posters to attract members as they grow the membership for their Eco clubs.
Nature Exploration includes Bird watching and identification, Nature photography, the Mapping of local ecosystems and the Tracking of seasonal plants and animal changes
This activity will help children to be more aware of what Nature has to offer. They will eventually be aware of the impact Nature has on their lives, and they will become more willing to protect the environment. The benefit from nature based learning in a great way.
Community Environmental Actions
Organize neighborhood clean-ups, Create recycling education programs, Plant trees in community spaces and Design local environmental awareness campaigns.
We all get an opportunity to meet neighbors and interact with them as we go from being strangers to becoming friends when we are busy doing these green activities. In our country Jamaica we speak about the fact that tourism is our main foreign exchange earner and how we can benefit from keeping our island beautiful. We also mention the reduction in bills, how we can improve our health and well being and earn from recycling projects. This will cause more individuals to become interested in environmental protection.
Scientific Research Eco Projects
Giving children a Solar Robotic Eco Engineering STEM toy will influence their ability to be creative as they learn. Both girls and boys will like this toy as they play and learn each day.
4M educational toys and kits cover many subjects. The robots can be programmed to do many tasks. Assisting with recycling, children can build their own robots that are operated with solar energy.
These activities will cause us to improve or change what we are doing to the environment. If we are causing damage, we can stop doing that and begin restoring the environment so we can reap great rewards.

The Zero-waste lunch competitions, Energy-saving household challenges, Plastic reduction campaigns and Sustainable transportation weeks.
These green activities will cause us to see improved team work and creativity; as we help each other empower children to save money and the environment.
Conclusion:
We have heard about places where there is drought and food insecurity. We should be doing all we can to protect the environment and develop more food storage plans for ourselves while we conserve water.It is also good to engage children through interactive, hands-on experiences that combine learning, environmental stewardship, and fun.
