The Eco Warriors Should not be the Only Ones Who are Tackling the Pollution Problem

— by

If we could change the way we educate the children about environmental protection

They would grow up with plans to live in a clean environment and make much better decisions

There are cycles that are hard to break because bad habits are passed on from generation to generation

Now we wonder how worst can these situations get

Why should we keep on doing the wrong things while we wait to have regret

It is good to see this eco warriors trying to make a difference

But why won’t many people stop and look at what is happening and say this makes no sense

Rivers are so polluted that the fish and other creatures all die

After a while, what will people eat ? Will they just sit and wonder why?

If we simply use, discard and won’t think about reusing, recycling and reducing

And manufacturers just keep on advertising and producing

The pollution problems will keep on growing each day

And there is no way we can look forward to living in a better way

It is easy for children to learn about going green now

The ebooks that are here will tell them how

A change is needed and the children can learn

In the future there will be green jobs and they will need to earn

We all can contribute to a plan that will fix the problems we see

And say we should not allow some people to live so close to pollution and misery

Exactly! Thank you, Denise! Education is the only long-term solution (and also even mid-term to short range solution, as well) to our problems, especially environmental.

Thank you Shira, we watch the advertisements and know how to pollute but we need to talk about cleaning up the pollution some more?

Absolutely! I still remember the ‘Give a Hoot, Don’t Pollute’ commercials from the 70’s, and others that I don’t think we have had for a very long time. I think that getting the idea of civic responsibility and cleaning up after ourselves and even after others needs to become normalized in our civic conversation, as you point out.

I completely agree with your profound post, Denise. Here in our country for putting bill boards and advertisement if there are some trees coming in the way they will hack them and even for Metros and what nots. Destroyers we have in our own human beings. Lovely.
