However, if we look at scientific evidence and the number of people and ecosystems affected, these are among the biggest global environmental pollution challenges today.
Air Pollution (Largest Impact on Human Health)
Air pollution causes millions of premature deaths each year. This comes from vehicles, factories, power plants, wildfires, and burning fossil fuels and it contributes to climate change.

Greenhouse Gas Pollution (Climate Change)
Carbon dioxide, methane, and other greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, leading to a gradual rise in global temperatures. As a result, the heatwaves are getting hotter and more prolonged, placing immense stress on our ecosystems and human health. Furthermore, agriculture is facing new challenges, as more water is needed for crops, particularly in areas that are already experiencing drought conditions.
This increased demand for water is compounded by the fact that data centers, essential for our digital economy, will require a lot more water for cooling processes. The decisions we make each day, from our energy consumption to our water usage, will affect us in many profound ways, influencing everything from food security to climate resilience and dictating how future generations will navigate the effects of climate change.
