Should parents encourage their children to join environmental clubs at their schools?
Now that the environment is so polluted, children will need to live by some new rules
After they join these environmental clubs they enjoy getting involved in many different activities and learn how to be a part of a team
They can plan for the future in a much better way, now that they can protect the environment and fulfill their dreams
These are some of the things they do:
- Plant trees
- Meet monthly and clean up the school yard, as a club.
- Video tape: the gardening activities.
- Hold an environment-themed photo contest at a their school that will include children who are not a part of the club.
- Challenge all children in the club to add at least one green habit to their daily lives
Tree Planting
Tree planting is an activity that children will enjoy a lot
They’ll start dreaming about the future and look forward to the day when they’ll say ” look how many fruits I’ve got”
If we had encouraged more children to plant trees in the past
Starvation and poverty would not be able to last
Children will be happy and proud when they see the fruit of their labour
There might even be a positive change in their behaviour
When they realise how important environmental protection is
And how they start selling the things they produce, they think of starting a business
Meet and Remove Litter from School Yard
Since the water can collect in waste and cause us to see increase in Mosquito borne diseases
When members of environmental clubs keep the school yard clean, illness will decrease
Children will learn how good it is to be a part of a team
This will help them later in life when they are ready to see fulfilled dreams
Video Tape Gardening activities
Children will be more excited about gardening when they record the growth of their plants
They will be showing these recordings to other children and they will join the club too; that is what we want
When the growth of plants become fascinating for the environmental club members
In the future they will always want to do gardening, because they will remember
Holding An Environmental Photo Contest
Children like winning and getting prizes
When they see the lovely photos of nature their enthusiasm will rise
There are other small competitions they can organize as well
Soon they will have a lot of great stories to tell
How Children Can Learn New Green Habits
When children develop new green habits their parents will get interested in doing the same
Going Green will become a plan that everyone likes, it will no longer be like a rejected game
Developing green habits will cause our children to be ready for a green future
They will be preparing to create green jobs and for them life will be getting better
