Those who clear land so they can use it for something besides forest
Not thinking of the birds and other creatures who need a place to rest
Will talk about the jobs that are being created for the poor
But they don’t think about the destruction that will come, and how they are making the future insecure
When the poor create their own jobs economies grow
Children see their parents working and developing businesses, they have hope for a bright tomorrow
It is now more important for people to become aware of the damage they are doing
So they can begin making plans for the future and think about where they are going
We need to make informed decisions now, more than ever before
Climate change, plastic pollution and deforestation won’t give us a future that is secure
It is time for us to tell our children the truth about the damage that was done
And why we need to talk about solutions so our children can learn how to make better decisions
Planning for the future is a great thing to do
Even though with the current conditions, some people wonder if they will make it through
When we tell the children how to treat the environment right
They can easily plan for a future that is bright
As they prepare to do green jobs that are sustainable
They will be creating things that are more valuable
We show the children how much we care
When we help them to be more aware
So they won’t do the same things that caused damage
Let us help children to write a new story on a different page

It should be easy, agreed, but it seems little has changed since I was at school in the ’80s when I recall the teacher telling us than an area the size of France was being cut from the Brazilian rainforest every five years š¦
