Industrialization is destroying the environment and we can change our habits
We can buy less stuff and large corporations can be contented with less profits
Sending so much stuff to the dumps to be burned is bad for the environment
It is time for us to say protecting our health is important and maybe we want to make a commitment
The ever changing markets and models caused by the industrial revolution
Has left us with a need for a solution
The never ending pursuit of modern things
Cause us to live like puppets on strings
As the environment is destroyed in many ways
We are working harder and we don’t even know if hard work pays
As we are on a treadmill that we don’t control anymore
Now we are even hearing about the working poor
There is no other creature on earth that pollutes the planet like us
Do we really need to follow fashion trends, do we need to make a fuss?
If only we could think twice before we shop
A lot of the pollution would stop
The owners of the stores won’t stop advertising so we are the ones who need to change
We could decide to stop shopping so much, even though at first we might feel a bit strange
If we won’t protect the environment our food could get too toxic to eat
And we could find ourselves in a position that is so bad, that we can only accept defeat
Enough is enough, we’ve got to say we don’t want more stuff
Because a polluted environment causes us to have a life that is too rough
