Disappearing Islands- Sea Level Rise

Climate change is causing big problems for some people on the Solomon Islands

While a lot of individuals in other parts of the world are not able to understand

That while they continue polluting the air by producing more greenhouse gases each day

They should be thinking of others who also want to live in a great way

It is clear that there are some people who care about making money and they don’t care who gets hurt in the process

They think that having lots of money is equal to having success

This way of thinking has been causing the destruction of the environment

And now we have children who are not able to look forward to a future that is decent

Now that there are homes that are being washed away

And people are crying as all they can see is dismay

There should never be people on the planet that will hurt others

We should be living together as we share and care as if we are all sisters and brothers

Some of those who have more money tend to think they don’t need to care about the poor

They think all they need to do is make plans to increase their income more and more

While the environment is polluted in many ways

And poverty increases each and every day

The children should be able to plan to have a future that is bright

Investors should not be taking that ability away from them, that is not right

The people who destroy the environment today will need to stay healthy too

We are all humans with the same needs, we should be careful about the things we do

Some people shouldn’t be left without their islands while others live in palaces

It is not that hard for the rich to put more smiles on faces

If more adults could think about the children and what their lives will be like in the future

We would want to change the way we protect the environment so that children can see life as a great adventure

They could have a clean environment with clean air and water so they can always be healthy

But now it seems like their ability to enjoy life is being taken away by those who are wealthy

Let us spread the word about the need for environmental protection so that people will make informed decisions

They will know why it is not good for us to ignore the need to reduce pollution
