Climate Change and Increased Poverty

More and more people are on the run from the Climate crisis these days

They are losing their homes and then they are suffering in so many ways

Climate change is happening while developed countries burn coal, oil and gas that produce more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere

The rainy season is now unpredictable and farmers are suffering losses, it is time for more of us to care

The wealthy North seals its borders as people try to keep them out

The scientists warned for many years and now there is no doubt

That climate change is causing devastation and increased poverty

It would be good if the wealthy could remember charity

There is no one who can say a flooded home is a good thing

So why can’t more people do something to stop the sea level from rising

Isn’t it clear that our actions affect people in places we don’t see

And even though some of us are not affected as yet, these floods

could start affecting you and me

Some people say climate change is not something we should even talk about

And It is creating more poverty and people are suffering, there is no doubt

We need to do more to make a difference in the world today

There is no need for rich countries to cause poor people to live in a terrible way

If children learn from the bad practices they see around now

Will they be able to have an earth to live on somehow?

Climate change skeptics say there is no need to change anything

Even though some of the innovations and technology has caused a lot of suffering
