If we wait until the last fruit tree is cut down
We will be feeling like that clown
With nothing that is healthy to eat
And nothing much to say when we meet
If we wait until the air gets more toxic
We will be sorry we didn’t stop using so much plastic
When we could find alternatives or recycle more
When we had opportunities knocking at our doors
If we wait until there is no more clean water to drink
What will we say and what will we think
It is not right for us to ignore the warnings each day
When we can treat the environment in a better way
